Nanaimo and her husband, David, the move from Calgary four years ago, looking for a more creative lifestyle.

What attracted you to Nanaimo? We always wanted to live on an island, where we can explore the ocean and mountains ... people here seem very eccentric, easygoing. Slower pace than in Calgary, this seems to be with our creative direction. Nanaimo just think it is wrong. We have seen live in Victoria, but it just seems too crowded and elsewhere, Comox and Campbell River, just too small or too far away. Nanaimo is not too big, not too small. It is still a small town feel ... people approachable, no one was in a hurry to get anywhere. We only see it as a great place to raise our children and our son like here.

We really came here, in a faith leap. We sold our home in Calgary, and really did not start our work mobile (Nanaimo). We do not want to pick up we left, the work of an enterprise. We hope that creative. So, we started to build our own business. This is a challenge. During the recession, we moved here, so we met a lot of struggle, just have confidence in here for a reason. I can teach yoga and do readings (palm, tarot and tea), and started my whole business, the island healing and my husband to be a musician and teacher. He loved what he did, and here it has been accepted.

You how to integrate what you bring Nanaimo?

Nanaimo has a very unique look to accept our life, we feel that we have the real part of the creative development. It has been so easy to meet people, and all of our friends and random charity, from the people we have to have shared their stories, Nanaimo, we are very grateful.

I think I have been able to bring a comprehensive and healthy contribution to the island as a yoga teacher and my husband is really into music. Inspire new students, and always wanted to play the guitar.

What is the most pleasant surprise it?

I think this is a true friend, and we've made. You can always say, you have a lot of acquaintances, but surprisingly, we can make a lot of people are very good friends. These differences in our lives on a daily basis. The energy of the people here is such an unexpected surprise. Kindness and open heart to welcome us. Four years later, we really felt like the Islanders. Our content and profound connection, we are here to thank. For those who want to move to any comments here?
